Why BetterFaith

Faith was never meant to grow alone.

Sunday fills you. Small group keeps you. But the deeper work of faith - prayer, character, the questions you cannot quite say out loud - mostly has nowhere to go. We built BetterFaith to be that place.

  • Learning to be with God.
  • Learning to become more like Jesus.
  • Learning to live in the power of the Spirit.
  • Learning to love your neighbor.
  • Learning to live inside God's story.
  • Learning to find God in the ordinary.

Why BetterFaith

These moments bring people to BetterFaith

I need someone to pour into me

You're hungry to grow. You want someone who opens scripture with you, prays for you by name, and calls you out when you're drifting. A mentor isn't content. It's a person a few steps ahead, on your team, who knows your actual life.

Sunday and small group aren't enough

Sunday feeds you. Small group is good community. You want the next thing: one person walking alongside you, asking the hard follow-up, helping you put what you're learning into actual practice. That is what one-on-one discipleship is for.

Hard questions, no place to ask them

Suffering. What the Old Testament is doing. What the Bible actually says about hell. You love these questions. You want to wrestle with them honestly, with someone who loves theology as much as you do and has the time to go deep with you.

I'm not sure I still believe this

The thought keeps coming back. You haven't been able to bring it up at church without spooking someone. You want a counselor who treats doubt as part of a real faith, not the end of one, and can help you work honestly through it.

Rebuilding what I think and believe

You're not pulling things apart because your faith was weak. You're doing the work because it's worth doing well. You want a guide who has rebuilt their own on something sturdier, and can help you land somewhere truer than where you started.

Exploring faith and religion

You're curious. You're paying attention. You want to ask the real questions without a pitch, a pew, or a timeline. A one-on-one conversation with someone grounded in scripture is a better first step than you might think.

FAQ

Your Questions, Answered

Everything you need to know before taking your next step.

What is BetterFaith?
BetterFaith is a team of pastors and biblical counselors, meeting with you one-on-one in virtual sessions. Whatever you're walking through, whether you're growing deep in your faith, wrestling with hard questions, rebuilding after a season that shook you, or just curious about any of this, there's a guide here to listen, pray, and walk with you.
Is this therapy?
No. BetterFaith is spiritual care, discipleship, and biblical counseling, rooted in scripture and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our guides are masters-level biblical counselors and pastors. They are trained to walk with you spiritually, not clinically. If what you're carrying calls for licensed therapy or mental health treatment, we'll point you toward the right resource.
How does it work?
Tell us what you're walking through and what you're hoping for. We match you with guides on our team whose theology, approach, and personality fit where you are, and you pick the one who feels right. Matching is immediate. Sessions are 50 minutes, virtual, and you are charged after the session rather than when you book. You can get matched and start whenever you are ready.
Is it only for Christians?
No. BetterFaith is built around the gospel of Jesus Christ, and our guides come to every conversation from that conviction, but you do not need to share that faith to be here. Anyone is welcome. Whether you're walking closely with Jesus, wrestling with doubt, spiritual but not religious, from another faith tradition, or have never really explored any of this, come as you are. Our guides will meet you where you are, not where they wish you were.
How much does it cost?
Sessions are $100 for 50 minutes, and you are charged after the session rather than when you book. No subscription, no minimum. Buy sessions in a pack ahead of time and you save up to 15 percent. Many churches subsidize or fully cover sessions for their people, so ask your pastor, and if your church is not a partner yet tell us and we will reach out to them. If cost is what is standing in your way, email support@betterfaith.com. We will find a way to make it work.
Why can I not use insurance for BetterFaith sessions?
Because insurance pays for clinical treatment of a diagnosed condition, and that is not what this is. To bill an insurer, a provider has to give you a mental-health diagnosis, document you against it, and let the insurer decide how many sessions you get. Biblical counseling and discipleship are pastoral care, not clinical care, so there is nothing for an insurer to reimburse. You pay out of pocket, and in exchange there is no diagnosis on your record and no insurer setting a session limit. If what you are carrying calls for licensed therapy, we will tell you and help you find it.
What if the first session does not go well?
Tell us within 48 hours and we will refund it in full. If you would rather try someone else instead, we will rematch you with a different guide at no cost and you do not owe us an explanation. Fit matters more than almost anything else in this kind of conversation, so a first match that misses is a normal part of the process, not a failure.
What can I talk about?
Anything that's on your heart. People come to us for discipleship, hard questions of faith, seasons of doubt, grief and loss, marriage and relationships, church hurt, rebuilding after deconstruction, premarital prep, parenting, exploring Christianity or another faith tradition, and finding purpose in what they do each day. Every conversation looks different because every person is different. Your guide will meet you exactly where you are and walk with you from there.
Can my church partner with BetterFaith?
Yes. BetterFaith partners with churches that want a trusted extension of their care ministry for members who need ongoing discipleship or biblical counseling between Sundays. Pastors can refer members directly, sponsor sessions through a church plan, or treat us as a standing part of the care team. Visit /for-churches to see how it works.
