Cookie Notice
Last updated: May 22, 2026
This Cookie Notice explains how BetterFaith, Inc. ("BetterFaith") uses cookies and similar technologies on betterfaith.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and software development kits (SDKs). They allow the site to remember information about your visit, recognize you on return, and understand how the site is used.
Categories of cookies we use
1. Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function. Without these, the site may not work properly. These include first-party session cookies and security tokens. These are always on and cannot be turned off.
2. Functional
Remember your preferences and improve usability - for example, dismissed banners or accessibility settings. First-party only.
3. Analytics
Help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We currently use:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for aggregated page views, sessions, and event tracking (such as waitlist signup and outbound link clicks). GA4 is configured with IP anonymization on and Google Signals off, which limits the data Google collects from our users beyond core analytics. Data retention: up to 14 months.
- PostHog for product analytics, including event capture and limited session replay. We mask all form inputs (including email addresses and passwords) and elements marked private, so PostHog does not record the contents of fields you type. Data is hosted in the United States.
4. Advertising
We do not use advertising cookies. We do not run targeted advertising on the BetterFaith site, and we do not allow third-party advertising trackers.
How to control cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Consent banner. The first time you visit the site, our cookie consent banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Your choice is remembered for future visits. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the "Manage Consent" link in the bottom corner of any page.
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the site.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC). We honor the GPC signal as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not currently sell or share, but if our practices change, the GPC signal will continue to be honored.
- Google Analytics opt-out. You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent GA from collecting data from your browser.
- Email us. For requests under state privacy law, including limits on the use of sensitive personal information, email privacy@betterfaith.com.
Do Not Track
The "Do Not Track" browser setting is not a uniform standard, and we do not currently respond to it. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal instead, which is the standard recognized by current state privacy laws.
Changes
We may update this notice when we change our use of cookies. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted.
