Accessibility Statement
Last updated: May 22, 2026
BetterFaith is committed to making our website and services accessible to people of all abilities. We believe the invitation to spiritual care should reach everyone who needs it, including those who use assistive technologies, who navigate by keyboard, who use screen readers, who have low vision, who have hearing differences, or whose abilities are otherwise outside the assumed default.
Our standard
We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA across the BetterFaith website and product. WCAG is the de facto international standard for digital accessibility.
What we have done
- Designed for keyboard navigation throughout the site, with visible focus indicators on interactive elements
- Maintained color contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG AA for body and interface text
- Provided meaningful alternative text for non-decorative images and marked decorative imagery as such
- Built page structure with semantic HTML so screen readers can navigate effectively
- Included a "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page
- Respected the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting so animations and transitions do not interfere with users sensitive to motion - Preferred visible labels over placeholder-only labels in forms
What we are working on
Accessibility is not a one-time achievement; it is a discipline. We continue to:
- Audit pages for WCAG 2.2 AA compliance and address findings
- Test with screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and voice input
- Train our team on accessibility considerations
- Ask vendors and integrations to meet the same bar
- Improve in response to feedback from people who use the site
If you encounter a barrier on the BetterFaith site, we want to know.
