How long does matching take?
Matching is immediate. We match you with guides on our team whose theology, approach, and personality fit where you are, and you pick the one who feels right. No waiting, no placeholder forms, just a guide ready to walk with you.
What happens during the first session?
Every match starts with a free 15 minutes together. You meet your guide, share a little of what brought you here, and see if the fit feels real before you commit. If you decide to move forward, your first full session is 50 minutes. Your guide listens, asks questions, prays with you if you want that, and starts getting to know your story. You set the pace.
Can I switch guides if the fit isn't right?
Yes. Fit matters more than almost anything else in this kind of conversation. If your first match does not feel right, tell us and we'll rematch you at no extra cost. You do not owe us an explanation.
What are sessions like?
Sessions are 50 minutes by video, face-to-face from wherever you are. What happens inside them depends on you. Some people come with a clear question or situation and want to talk through it. Others come to be discipled, reading scripture together, praying, and building habits that help them grow. Some are in a hard season and just need someone to sit with them in it. Your guide meets you where you are.
Is this therapy?
No. BetterFaith is spiritual care, discipleship, and biblical counseling, rooted in scripture and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our guides are masters-level biblical counselors and pastors. They are trained to walk with you spiritually, not clinically. If what you're carrying calls for licensed therapy or mental health treatment, we'll point you toward the right resource.
How much does it cost?
Sessions with a guide are $100 each for a 50-minute video session. If your church has a BetterFaith partnership, they may be covering sessions for you, so it's worth asking your pastor. Church-sponsored plans are available for any congregation that wants to cover care for their members.
