Welcome to BetterFaith. By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

What BetterFaith Is

BetterFaith is a managed marketplace that connects individuals ("seekers") with vetted pastors and biblical counselors ("guides") for spiritual care, discipleship, and biblical counseling.

BetterFaith is not a therapy or clinical treatment provider. Our guides provide spiritual care, mentorship, and biblical counseling. They are not licensed therapists, psychologists, or psychiatrists. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a licensed professional or call 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline).

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use BetterFaith. By using our services, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update it as necessary.

How the Marketplace Works

• Matching: We match you with a guide based on your stated needs, theological preferences, and personality. We do our best to find a good fit, but we cannot guarantee compatibility.
• Sessions: Sessions are conducted via video at mutually agreed times. Standard sessions are 50 minutes.
• Rematching: If your guide is not the right fit, you may request a rematch at no additional cost.

Payments and Refunds

• Session fees are charged at the time of booking.
• Cancellations made more than 24 hours before a session are eligible for a full refund.
• Cancellations made within 24 hours may be subject to a cancellation fee.
• If you are unsatisfied with your first session, contact us within 48 hours for a full refund.

Guide Conduct

All guides on BetterFaith have been vetted through our credentialing process, which includes credential verification, theological review, and a background check. However, BetterFaith does not employ guides directly. Guides operate as independent contractors.

If you experience misconduct or have concerns about a guide, please report it immediately to support@betterfaith.com. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

Your Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, threaten, or abuse guides or other users
• Misrepresent your identity or the nature of your needs
• Attempt to contact guides outside the BetterFaith platform to circumvent fees
• Share or distribute session content without the other party's consent

Intellectual Property

All content on betterfaith.com, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of BetterFaith or its content suppliers and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

Disclaimer of Warranties

BetterFaith is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that our services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular outcome will result from using our services.

We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or appropriateness of any guidance provided by our guides. You acknowledge that spiritual care involves subjective judgment and that results vary.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BetterFaith and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BetterFaith from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of our services or your violation of these Terms.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
