Why this exists

Ministry is a calling. It should also be sustainable.

Most pastors and biblical counselors who feel called to walk with people are doing that work in fragments. Sunday mornings. Evening phone calls. Squeezed between a full-time ministry role and the rest of life. Or in private practice, spending half the week on billing, scheduling, and client acquisition instead of on the people they were called to serve.

We believe pouring into someone's spiritual life is one of the most important callings a person can have. We also believe the people doing that work should be supported to do it well, paid fairly for it, and given the tools and community to sustain it over the long haul.

BetterFaith exists to make that possible. We handle the matching, the scheduling, the billing, and the tech. We pay our guides a fair and consistent rate for every session. And we build the tools, training, and peer community that keep this work sustainable.

How it works

Getting started is simple

1

Start with the applicant hub

We've put together an applicant hub that walks through our mission, values, theological commitments, interview process, and statement of posture. Start there. If it resonates, submit your application from the hub.

2

Interview and vetting

Every applicant goes through a theological interview and a background check. We are intentional about who we bring on. The people we place in front of seekers need to be people we trust with their spiritual life.

3

Start pouring in

Once you're in, we match you with seekers whose theology, situation, and personality fit how you guide. You set your availability. We handle the rest, so you can focus on the sessions.

What you get

Tools, resources, and support for the long haul

People who need what you offer

No cold outreach. No client acquisition. Our matching algorithm surfaces seekers whose theology, situation, and personality fit how you guide.

Fair, consistent pay

We pay a fair rate for every session you take. The rate is set by us, consistent across guides, and designed to make this work sustainable.

We handle the business

Billing, invoicing, scheduling, no-shows, payment - all of it. You are paid on a regular cadence without chasing a single dollar.

Tools built for this work

Video platform, session notes, client files, and workflows built for spiritual care. Plus ongoing training and resources to sharpen your practice.

A community of guides

You are joining a growing community of pastors and counselors who share your commitments. Peer learning, shared standards, and real consultation.

Your schedule, your pace

You control when you are available. Block off time anytime. Take as many or as few sessions as your life and calling allow.

Requirements

Who we're looking for

Masters-level degree in biblical counseling, pastoral counseling, or divinity (M.A., M.Div., or equivalent)
Active involvement in a local church community
Willingness to pass a background check and theological review
Reliable internet connection and a private space for sessions

I've been a pastor for fifteen years, and biblical counseling is where I feel most alive. BetterFaith gave me a way to keep pouring into people in that specific way, fairly compensated, without having to build a business around it.
